History :
This is the 1st department of Plastic Surgery started in India in the year 1958.Late Dr.C.Balakrishnan was instrumental in starting the department and was the first H.O.D. till 1965.Late Dr.L.K.Sharma took over from him and retired in 1991,handing over the reins to the 3rd H.O.D. Dr.S.M.Kale, who is presently headind the department. Last M.C.I. inspection was carried out in 1993. Presently,department is MCI recognized with 2 MUHS recognized postgraduate teachers. |

OPD is on Monday and Thursday. 8a.m. – 12.30p.m.Rest days of the week are O.T.days except Sunday.
There is only 1 unit consisting of an adhoc- HOD and Lecturer.
The entire unit is on call 24-7(24 hours/day,7 days/week). |
